My Photographic Journey

Welcome to my world of photography! Here's a glimpse into my journey, passions, and the experiences that have shaped my lens.

From a Kodak to a Career

My love for photography began at the age of 7 when my uncle, a U.S. Merchant Marine, gifted me a Kodak camera. This early exposure allowed me to capture and preserve cherished childhood memories. Little did I know, this was the beginning of a lifelong passion.

Engineering and the Art of Photography

I hold a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Philippines and a master's degree in Engineering Mechanics from Wayne State University. My career includes roles such as Sales Engineer for Caterpillar Tractors (USI Philippines), Design Engineer (H.A. Simons International, Vancouver B.C.), Professional Engineer (Consumers Glass, Toronto), Project/Research Engineer at GM Technical Center (Warren, MI), and Project Engineer/Group Leader at Chrysler (retired). This diverse background has equipped me with a unique understanding of both the technical and artistic aspects of photography.

The Science Behind the Shot

My educational and professional experiences have provided me with a solid foundation in the theory and practical application of photography. Understanding that an image is a reflection of light, I meticulously select the best options when shooting with my Canon DSLR 90D and Fujifilm X-T5 cameras. Furthermore, I dedicate countless hours to organizing and editing images after each photoshoot to achieve the highest quality results.
